Meet Our Team

We work as a collegiate group using each team member’s strengths to deliver the best for our client's needs.

Sometimes we may suggest an internal referral.

At other times we will recommend an external referral especially the more difficult surgeries and diagnostic procedures.

At all times we make sure that your pet has access to the best clinician for their needs.

Our Nurses are an integral part of the team and work collaboratively with our Vets to offer you an efficient service of a high level high. Our nurses are highly trained and can share their insights into the tricky task of how to give a cat a tablet, what special foods are available, information about parasite treatment, and many more. Just ask if you have a question.

We are constantly seeking to deliver the best outcome for you and your little fluffy friend.

Rod Graham

Practice Owner (BVSc)

Dr Rod started the Village Vet in 1993 at 30 Jackson St, Toorak.

Before moving to Toorak, he was a horse vet in the Yarra Valley for 20 years.

He is the heart and soul of the Village Vet, and is strongly focussed on giving owners the support they need to take care of their animals.

He is a great educator, a great listener, and his major strengths are breaking complex problems down into simple, often not thought of solutions.

As a Vet he is a generalist, and has a great affection for Rabbits, especially if they have lop ears, loves the simplicity of heart of Labradors and King Charles Cocker Spaniels, and is attracted by the personality of British Blues. He has to mentally prepare for rats and mice, and has a strong aversion to snakes or things that slither. When asked, he sees his main role as a vet, and in life, as helping others, and firmly believes that the Village Vet exists to help people care for the pets: by listening to them, guiding them, coaching them and educating them.

Anupam Sharma

Veterinarian (BVSc MANZCVS (Small Animal Medicine))

Dr Sharma has been working in Small Animal Practice for over ten years. Since graduating from University of Sydney in 2006, she has travelled the world and worked in general practice and referral hospitals in Sydney, Melbourne and London. Her primary interest lies in emergency and critical care, as well as senior patient care. This lead Dr Sharma to undergo advanced studies in Small Animal Medicine and sharpen her diagnostic imaging skills.

Dr Sharma loves being a veterinarian and helping cats and dogs with a variety of issues. She aims at improving patients' quality of life, and strengthening the bond between pets and owners.

You will likely see Dr Sharma’s dog Nisha at the clinic. She is a gorgeous Pointer x Lab who absolutely loves people. Despite her loud bark, she is a gentle soul. Oh! and she is a blood donor! Nisha goes everywhere with Dr Sharma and loves every minute of it.
